The real world...

Hi guys,

I haven't got an outfit to post or anything like that today. I've been so busy lately, trying to sort things out to move to Oxford for an internship that I haven't had a lot of time to take proper photos etc (apologies).
Anyway, I'm here now in Oxford and I start my internship tomorrow. Eeeek. I was planning on taking a photo of my outfit that I wear to work everyday and posting it. Would you be interested in seeing what an intern wears to the office everyday? Also, it'll stop me reaching for the same outfits all the time... Which might be difficult having to think of new things for 3 months... But I'm up for the challenge :)

Let me know if you'd be interested in this everyday or whether you would just like random OOTD's?

And I wonder if everything could ever feel this real forever...

I've always thought that pumps with midis/maxis looks really cool, but never done it thinking it wouldn't work on me. I'm not really a Summer person- give me tights and jumpers any day!

Coral and leopard spots

I've been meaning to take OOTD photos with my camera but I've just been so busy as of late that a few sneaky snaps on my phone is about all I can manage.

Today, I met my best friend for lunch, as she's been in Thailand for 6 weeks and she had been missed very much :) She got me some goodies from her trip and I made a few cheeky purchases (I'll put photos/a video up soon).

The dress/tunic (it's VERY short) is from a collaboration that Barbara Hulanicki did with Topshop several years ago. I loved the collection at the time but thought it was expensive so never bought anything and I had always come across items on ebay too, that even years later still are a ridiculous price. Anyway, a few months ago, I found this in a local charity shop for... wait for it... £8. I was one happy bunny.

I better stop rambling and get ready for work. If anyone has a spare 5 minutes at all, I would be so grateful if you could fill in this questionnaire for my dissertation. It's proving a real struggle to get large numbers of young women to take part. Also, feel free to pass the link on to anyone you know who might like doing questionnaires (?!)... but of course, no pressure :) If you do decide to take part- it's completely anonymous.

:)

What I covet #2

I love leopard print. Seriously love. Throw in a designer and I'm there. You can get this for £40 at House of Fraser if you love it as much as I do.

Words can't describe how badly I want this cardigan from Topshop. Shame it's £46 and sold out everywhere though!!

Boots: Allegra- Topshop ~ Bag: Zara, ~ Bangle: from a Moroccan souk ~

So this is what I wore when I went out for a meal last night with my mum.We went to this cute cafe which is only open for dinner on a Friday night, but open for breakfast and lunch the rest of the week.  I drove to the restaurant and parking was a nightmare, resulting in many laps around the town to find a space- which was rather interesting driving in the torrential rain AND my Allegra's!

I got the shirt dress the other day from ASOS in the sale when it was reduced to £12.50- BARGAIN.

Excuse my mother's not-the-best photography skills with my phone and the weird marks I have on my arm from shadows in the bottom photo.

Benefit Sun Beam Review

I'm a recent Benefit convert, and since recently I've found myself obsessing over it. I read about Sun Beam and thought it would be great for the Summer to make you look more sun kissed (whether you are or not. Stupid English weather).

I was going to buy this at the airport just before my holiday to Lanzarote but there wasn't an assistant around to tell me the price or to persuade me (not that I needed much persuading) that I need the product in my life. So, my friend and I decided to leave it, though we both regretted it terribly on holiday when we kept seeing it in all the magazines we had brought.
Anyway, the day after I got back I paid a cheeky visit to Debenhams (need those beauty card points!) and I got my mitts on it. And boy am I glad I did.  Admittedly, it was the whole 'golden bronze' and 'liquid sunshine in a bottle' that sold me on Sun Beam. I'm not a fan of Moon Beam, I really dislike the nailpolish style of it, but I put my thoughts aside as I knew I wouldn't be happy until I had Sun Beam.

Sun Beam is basically the same as Moon Beam just a golden version. The packaging is the same except Sun Beam has a palm tree instead of a moon and the nailpolish style applicator is the same.
Watts Up by Benefit is my usual highlighter and even though I thought I preferred a stick highlighter, Sun Beam is making me reconsider this. The great thing with this highlighter is that it is very subtle, but you can make yourself as 'golden' as you want/need to.  I apply it on my brow bones, cheek bones, temples and sometimes on my cupid's bow and down the centre of my nose.

Whilst to some people, £18.50 might seem like a lot to spend on a highlighter, it is well worth it. Benefit is a great quality brand, and there is a lot in the bottle which will last me a long time even with daily application! So, go go go (no pressure)...
